Fairfield's beds are the best. We hiked alot and it was always great to return to a comfortable space. Hotel also provided amenities and coffee/tea/hot water that we could take at any time of the day. With a car, this hotel could definitely serve as a great starting point to explore Wakayama and the old pilgrimage routes. The front desk - who went above and beyond to help us in every single way possible - from food to hiking to umeboshi recommendations - we want to thank them for being so patient with us, us being travellers that had researched about Wakayama via the Internet and finally arriving and realising we were at a loss with where and how to go to places! A huge thank you to the Thai front desk staff (sorry I didn't manage to catch your name!) who shared with us so many pointers and recommendations from our check-in to check-out, and Yamakado (I think I might have read your name tag wrongly, sorry if I got your name wrong) and Morinato for being so kind to recommend umeboshi that I tried back home - I really loved the honey one - you were both right, it is delicious! I'll definitely make a return trip to Fairfield Mie again if I can. Thank you guys ☺︎

The location is great and it is just beside the express way with free car park. The room is good size and super clean. The staff were very friendly and we have room for both Mountain View and sea view. Although there is no restaurants in this hotel but the common area is so cozy with coffee machine and lounge area to rest. We have breakfast everyday there with the food we bought from the nearby (5 minimum walk) supermarket. There are microwaves and toasters. There is also a little store in the hotel you can buy food. Perfect for visiting Kumamo area! Highly recommended!

Don’t be put off by the bland exterior appearance. Inside is warm and welcoming, furnished Scandinavian-style, with light blond wood floors. Very clean, quiet room with comfortable bedding, sofa and good walk-in shower. Efficient laundry-dryer on ground floor as well as a large open plan living-dining area with comfortable sofas & chairs, books and magazines. Free coffee, tea and miso soup anytime. Microwave. It felt like someone’s home. We appreciated the friendly and enthusiastic service provided by Ms Morita-san. Thank you for recommending Sushibun for dinner!

Whilst a little sterile from the outside, this little gem is a great place to stop if you need a break. There's a couple of small restaurants that the staff can direct you to. We went to a sashimi/ramen one, which was tiny but made fabulous food, and the owners were lovely. They even gave us a bag of their oranges when we left. Go for a long walk along the beach and watch the sun rise early the next morning. The staff at this hotel made a supreme effort.

Surprising find in this small, seaside town. Lovely, helpful staff. Quiet, comfortable room (higher floor overlooking ocean sunrise is exceptional). Free on-site parking. Not a ton of restaurants close by, but large grocery within walking distance. Beach is mostly stones. Coast has lots of interesting and beautiful places to explore.
